Blended Seated and Liberty University Online Academy
Southport Christian School is now an affiliate school of Liberty University Online Academy. The students complete online courses taught and graded by LUOA teachers with the support of our teachers and classes in school. Math, Spanish, Enrichment classes and Electives are taught by SCS teachers on campus. Together, SCS and LUOA offer excellent instruction online and the benefits of a brick-and-mortar school.
Brunswick Community College Dual Enrollment
While completing classes through Southport Christian School & Liberty University Online Academy, our students have the option to take classes at Brunswick Community college during their junior and senior year of high school. They may take college classes online, on the BCC campus, or a mix of both. You may view the eligibility requirements of the Career and College Promise program here.

Elective Classes
We recognize the importance of having a strong academic foundation, so we introduce students to classes that enrich learning, broaden knowledge and interests, and increase curiosity about themselves and our world.
Guitar & Drums
Guitar lessons at SCS give students a solid foundation by learning the correct skills to be successful at playing the guitar. Students develop essential techniques, develop finger dexterity, learn ear training for sound and rhythm, and learn to read music.

Art History
A survey of art in different time periods from pre-historic to contemporary. Students learn the art styles, famous artists, and history of each time period. This class is seated on campus and taught by an SCS teacher.

Art
This class goes along with our Art History program. While learning about the history behind the art our students get the hands on experience of trying it themselves!

Spanish
Spanish class at SCS gives students the experience of a new culture, supports abstract and creative thinking, and increases cognitive development. This course is completed online through Seated classes and LUOA.

Health & Physical Education
Physical Education at SCS: helps develop motor skills; teaches the importance of taking care of the body; builds muscle strength; increases self confidence; develops the ability to communicate and work with others as a team; teaches the importance of setting goals; and develops character.
Along with time in the gym at Cape Fear Fitness, students have a seated health class.

Personal Finance
Through Dave Ramsey's personal finance curriculum for teens, students will learn how to budget and manage their money and avoid debt. This is a crucial life skill we are glad to offer our students. This class will be seated and taught on the SCS campus.

Off Campus Education
Learning outside of the classroom is just as important as inside the four walls of a school. Our students take educational trips to Fort Caswell and have visited and studied museums in Raleigh.
